SPECIAL ON THE RECORD

DRIVER INSTRUCTORS MINUTED AGREEMENT

A minuted agreement was reached with management on the 19th of October 2006 regarding Driver Instructors.

The reason this agreement was made: was to ensure that DI’s were PROTECTED in their roles, if they were placed on the Disciplinary Procedure.
Previous to this agreement: DI’s who were at a Disciplinary Hearing could be given the punishment of REDUCTION IN GRADE, which could have meant that a DI who had been late on duty may have been placed on a Disciplinary hearing and the outcome of such a hearing may have been that the DI was reduced in grade to a Driver.

Post the agreement: A DI can only be reduced in grade within the agreed procedure after being charged with a Safety of the Line incident.

This does not affect your pension rights as Driver Instructors.

PAY & CONDITIONS 2007
We have had initial talks with management about the Pay & Conditions deal on 19, 20, 21 February 2007 and 20, 21, 22 March 2007, the talks so far have been constructive and we are meeting again on 24, 25, 26 April 2007.

We are aware that in Depot mess rooms there are a number of totally fictitious rumours being circulated on our progress. These rumours are unhelpful and will not assist progress at all, so far all talks have been amicable and there is still a long way to go to conclusion. Contrary to some misguided Drivers statements we have not walked out on any talks, we have not agreed a 2, 3, or 4 year deal. Only statements made by DCC on official headed paper are to be taken as fact.

SAFETY DAYS
A number of Drivers have reported to us that on Safety days at the Sim Centre, some trainers have been making derogatory comments about our Trade Union (usually on the subject of commentary driving). Attempts have been made by us to stop this, therefore if in future this carries on please report this to DCC asap.

OPERATIONAL RISK SUB-GROUP (formerly the SPAD User Gp)
The under mentioned Drivers are members of the ORSG and as such are your point of contact for raising any operational risk questions you may have at these meetings:

Dvr S Barrow – Ashford              Dvr M Ward – Ramsgate
Dvr V Doliak – Victoria               Dvr P Clarke – Grove Park
Dvr S Brown – Slade Green        Dvr J Holmes – DCC

Next Meetings: 01 May, 03 July, 04 Sep, 06 Nov 2007.

Yours Fraternally
