PAY & CONDITIONS 2007
We shall be having initial talks with management about the Pay/Conditions deal
on the 19, 20, 21 February 2007. As no doubt you all can imagine, negotiations for all of this will be long and complex. We will keep you updated as and when possible.

DEPOT VISITS
A list of dates will be posted at depots, where DCC & the District Organiser Graham Morris will be in attendance to speak to Drivers face to face.

COMMENTARY DRIVING
It has been discussed with management and we have been assured that the next Driving Policy will contain Commentary driving as voluntary; talks are still on going regarding its use during training/assessment.

RECRUITMENT DRIVE
Drivers Company Council will be having a prolonged recruitment drive which will last for this year until 31 December 2007.

DRIVING INSTRUCTORS
There have also been rumours circulating that management want to reduce the number of DI’s. We have not seen or heard anything to substantiate this. There will always be a steady turn over in drivers for whatever reason, (high speed link depots, pay deals, etc.) therefore the current number of DI’s will still be required.

FREE WILL SERVICE
Drivers Company Company recommends that all ASLEF members participate in the FREE Will service provided. If you do not make a Will there is a danger that the people you would have wanted to look after your affairs and to benefit from your estate WILL NOT DO SO. Phone today: 0808 100 8009
